Type as text and information

Typography and Communication

A typographic study and reference book (research publication) with various pages of exercises/iterations/explorations of continuous text matter.

Keeping a record in the form of captions of the typographic details i.e. typeface, type size, type style type format. For the final outcome, I created a typographic study and reference book.

The format is A4 and the binding used is black wire binding. The texture of the paper is called ‘Silk’ it produces a coating somewhere between a matte and a glossy finish. This project offered me the opportunity to experiment with different ideas and learn a lot about ‘macro-typography’ and ‘micro-typography’.

The typefaces I experimented with are Avenir, Baskerville, Gill Sans and Minion.
